  • Cemento-ossifying fibroma of mandible

    Australasian Radiology

Cemento-ossifying fibromas are relatively rare benign, non-odontogenic tumours of the jaw, a subdivision of fibro-osseous lesions. These tumours occur in the third and fourth decades of life, with predilection for women. Majority of the lesions are found in the posterior region of the mandible. We present a rare case of cemento-ossifying fibroma involving the mentum of the mandible in a 50-year-old lady and discuss the plain radiographic and computed tomographic features of the condition.

  • Giant haemangioma of the scalp - a case report

    Indian J Radiol Imaging

Haemangiomas are commonest benign vascular tumors. They can occur in any tissue but are especially common in the skin. The deeper soft tissue haemangiomas may involve any soft tissue, such as muscle, tendon, connective tissue, fatty tissue, synovium or bone. Massive enlargement and extension across tissue planes is very uncommon. We present a rare case of a giant haemangioma of the scalp with erosion of the underlying calvaria and intracranial extension. The rarity of this lesion prompted us to…

  • Leigh's disease (subacute necrotising encephalo-myelopathy)-a case report

    Indian J Radiol Imaging

Leigh's disease or Sub-acute necrotising encephalomyelopathy (SNE) is a rare neurodegenerative disorder of childhood that was first described by Leigh in 1951. It is possible to come to a diagnosis of probable SNE during life on the basis of clinical signs and symptoms, mode of inheritance, metabolic abnormalities, and neuroimaging findings. We report a rare case of Leigh's disease diagnosed on CT and MRI and discuss the role of imaging in its diagnosis.
